☾ WELCOME ☽

Welcome to my first ever blog post! After being an avid blog reader for a year or so, and a tumblr user for the last 3 years, I decided to start my own blog. I'll probably be posting monthly favourites, beauty and fashion reviews, lifestyle updates, literature, and other pieces thrown in here and there. But for now, I will start by introducing myself :-)

My name is Sarah, and I live in the West Midlands, UK. I'm 18, born 30th September (I'm 19 in 2 days!!) and I'm currently on a gap year between sixth form and university. I studied Psychology, English Literature and Theatre Studies for my A Levels, and next September I'm going to Swansea University to study Creative Writing MA. 

My hair colour changes constantly, but I'm trying to stick to a dark burgundy shade for Autumn. I'm a tattoo enthusiast, with 16 so far. I'll probably make a separate post about my tattoos.

I'm a huge fan of Disney. I'm in the midst of collecting the Walt Disney Animated Classics collection, but so far I'm only on 21/52. It's going to be an expensive, stressful, and long journey. My favourite Disney classics are The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, and The Aristocats. 

I've always been passionate for the written language and novels, but studying English Literature at sixth form developed my passion into love. I collect books like a madwoman, and my favourite novels are The Great Gatsby (F. Scott Fitzgerald), Pale File (Vladimir Nabokov) and the Sailor Moon manga (Naoko Takeuchi).

SAILOR MOON. I have a big place in my heart for Sailor Moon. I used to watch the North American (and, quite frankly, abysmal) dub, and used to run around my garden with my plastic Moon Stick pretending to defend my roses from the forces of evil. For some reason it stopped airing, and I forgot all about it, until I was about 14 and came across an image of Usagi. Recognising her, I instantly followed through the link and my entire childhood came back to me. Since then, I've been obsessed. The manga is one of the most haunting and beautiful stories I have ever had the pleasure to read.

Music wise, I have a very varied taste, but I don't tend to stray too far from the safety of my music library, unless I find a new artist I really adore. My favourite artist of all time is Lights Bokan (was Poxleitner). She is my inspiration and idol. I even have my feet tattooed in dedication to her. I also love Lana Del Rey (mostly her unreleased music), and The Smiths.

I play World of Warcraft, and I work as a barmaid in a hotel. This turned into quite the autobiography, so apologies for that. That's all I can think of for now! :-)
