So this month I've mostly stuck to my usual Holy Grail products, but I've tried a few new ones from recommendations, which I have come to love!
♡ SKINCARE ♡
So this month, I stuck to one of my all time favourite skincare products, and tried a new one I've heard good things about.
The one product I absolutely adore is Ocean Salt from Lush.
The new product I tried this month is Neutrogena's Visibly Clear Pink Grapefruit Daily Scrub.
This scrub is AMAZING. I can't describe how fruity and refreshing it smells. The grains are really fine, so it's very suitable for everyday use, and exfoliates well. It's not as deep cleansing as the Ocean Salt, but it does a good job of removing dead skin and doesn't leave my skin too dry. I was seriously impressed with this product, and it's not overly expensive either. This is definitely being added to my daily routine for the foreseeable future.
♡ MAKEUP ♡
I'm a massive fan of dark lipsticks, especially in Autumn. My all time favourite dark lipstick is Revlon's Super Lustrous in Black Cherry.
This lipstick very nourishing, it doesn't seem to dry at all and my lips always feel moisturised. It's very long lasting - I always wear it when I go night clubbing, and I never seen to see lipstick stains on my glasses (or anyone else ;-) ). It's a very buildable colour - I usually wear one layer, but for special occasions, or outings, I tend to use 2-3, depending on how dark I want the colour to be.
A new product I tried this month was Soap & Glory's Kick Ass Concealer.
This concealer confused me a lot when I first tried it. The pot is actually made up of two layers - the setting matte powder, and the cream concealer underneath (with a little mirror, which I thought was a useful touch). The concealer palette has two different shades, one for pink tones and another for yellows. I tend to use them both for different areas on my skin. The matte powder sets the concealer nicely, leaving it looking flawless and blended with the rest of the face (the compact included a little powder pad, which I lost. Fml). They do provide good coverage of redness, but can feel a bit cakey if it's piled on, so be warned. It's a handy tool and good for travel, as all of the components are together in one cute little compact.
Another new product I tried this month was the Bourjois Flower Perfection Primer.
I have a very love/hate relationship with this primer, but I needed to include it. I'll start with the cons.
This primer is OVERPRICED for the size of it. The pot is tiny, and if, like me, you get through primer quickly, you'll be buying pots every other week. You need a fair amount to build up the effect on your skin, and the tubs are far too small for the price they are. It actually angers me how much I spend on it, but I can't stop myself.
It is a genuinely good primer. It works extremely well. You can definitely see an airbrushed effect on your skin without it looking cakey. It's a mousse like texture, which I find I actually prefer to liquid primer, and it feels very soft and smooth on the skin.
My last beauty product for this month is Essie's Fiji.
I. LOVE. THIS. VARNISH. This is my all time favourite colour, and brand. I have spent months searching high and low for the perfect pale pink, but all of them seemed either too white or too pink. Essie have answered my prayers. It is the perfect blend of white and pink, long lasting, quick drying, and very durable. I've been wearing it for about a week now, and I can't find any chips. Definitely worth the price. I LOVE YOU ESSIE.
♡ HAIR ♡
This month, I used a new product from Lush that I've come to love.
H'Suan Wen Hua is a strange product. I think you either love or hate the smell (it's quite overpowering). I personally love it. It's a hair mask with ingredients such as organic free range eggs, watercress infusion, bananas, balsamic vinegar and cinnamon leaf oil. It is fairly pricey considering you're advised to use the entire pot in one go, but I tend to scrape two uses out of it (however I have medium length hair, people with longer hair will need to use the entire tub). I left it on for 20 minutes as it says on the tub. It wasn't a drastic improvement, but I definitely noticed the next day that my ends were much smoother, my hair was silkier and shinier, and my roots had more bounce.
♡ FASHION ♡
I only bought two new items of clothing this month, both from New Look, but they're both wardrobe staples that I'll be wearing a lot throughout Autumn and Winter.
The first item I bought was a pair of black disco pants.
I love disco pants. They're so versatile. I tend to wear mine mostly for night clubbing, as they look great with wedges and a peplum top. I have, however, also worn them out and about, just with a top and leather jacket, and some vans or ankle boots. They're really good quality considering they're not exactly a high end brand. New Look offers them in loads of different colours, but I chose black because;
1.) Black goes with anything
2.) I rarely wear colours.
My final favourite for this month is my pair of black ankle boots from New Look.
I love boots, but I tend to wear flat, military/combat boots. However, I thought I'd save those for winter, and instead hunt for a pair of classier, more sophisticated ankle boots for the autumn, and New Look did not disappoint. I love this pair, as they're so comfortable, and the chunky heel means your feet aren't in pain, yet still give an air of maturity. I love black and gold as a combination, and so I couldn't resist these.
Unfortunately, I can't find them in the online shop, however I only purchased them a week ago, so they won't have stopped selling! I wonder why they're not up on the website. They're definitely still in stores though. They were £29.99.
