♡ WHAT'S IN MY BAG? ♡

As an apology for my long lack of blogging, i'm determined to do a post a day throughout January (starting from yesterday..). As I have nothing new to review or write about at the moment, I thought I'd do a bog standard 'what's in my bag' :-)

This is my beautiful bag. I've gone through my whole bag-wearing life making do with cheap Primark bags that have broken after a few weeks, or occasionally treating myself to a River Island bag. However, after ogling over this Vivienne Westwood bag online for so long, my parents and nan collectively bought it for me for my 19th! I am absolutely in love with it, and it gets many compliments and "is it real?!" remarks. It's very sturdy, and the perfect size for me - it's not so big that my belongings are rolling around, yet it fits everything I need with a lot of room to spare. The fact that it's black also means it matches almost every outfit.

Next up are these little life savers. I can't leave the house without at least one fragrance in my bag. 8/10 times, I will reach for my Soap & Glory Mist You Madly body spray. I tend to use this throughout the day, as it's a light, refreshing scent that's perfect for everyday use. It's great to refresh yourself with at work, or out shopping when you can feel a bit sweaty under your many layers in the cold. It smells absolutely gorgeous - notes of vanilla, blackcurrant, bergamot and musk. Yum.

My other favourite fragrance in my bag is an absolute classic. It's possibly the most iconic scent in the world. It's much more popular with more mature ladies, rather than younger girls my age, but I suppose the scent is rather mature. Made famous by the iconic Monroe statement of only wearing a few drops of no.5 to bed, this scent is clean, elegant, and very sexy. It's a very hefty price for a perfume, so I try to only use this when I'm going out somewhere special. It's definitely more of a night time fragrance. I know some people my age don't like the scent, and find it smells like 'old lady', but it all depends on your body chemistry. Chanel No.5 works a dream on me.

I am a very backwards person, in that I would much prefer to put appointments, special dates and my work rota into an actual diary rather than onto my iPad or phone. As helpful as it is to have calendars, reminders and notes all in one place on my iPad, I seem to always forget it's actually on there, and so having a proper diary means I can't forget it when it's in my bag. I also always carry a book, very handy for the train or waiting around for someone. At the moment, I'm reading The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath.

These are my absolute basic necessities, the items I could live with only being in my bag if forced to. My purse is from Primark I believe, and does a fairly good job of keeping my notes, cards and receipts in one place. My coin purse was a christmas present from my best friend, so I'm not sure where it's from, but it's much handier than rooting around in my big purse for spare change. I can't leave the house without my headphones (it's hard to see, but they're gold leopards with black rhinestones). I also can't leave without a pack of cigarettes and the cute lighter my friend brought me back from Turkey.

Finally, I must always have a little travel makeup kit in my bag, and a hairbrush. I try to carry as little makeup as possible, apart from the absolute necessities - powder (I have very oily skin and so need to keep my powder touched up throughout the day), my Naked basics palette (includes a mirror and basic colours which can be used to create almost any look), and the lipsick I'm wearing that day (today is Snob).
